Before the days of action films' gun-toting firefights and bullet-time acrobatics, the heroes and villains of stage drama's early days were required to get up close and personal with one another when it came to armed conflict, most often with clashing steel blades. Celebrating the days of proper duels, Agecroft Hall presents “Sword Fighting: From Shakespeare to Present,” a demonstration highlighting medieval and Renaissance weapons found in Shakespeare's plays and tracing the development of fencing as a modern Olympic sport. Led by a fencing master, Walter Green of the Academie d'Armes International, the educational presentation unsheaths at 7 p.m. on Wednesday May 26. $7-$10.
