Sam and Carol are part of what former news anchor and author Tom Brokaw called the greatest generation. They also happen to be the parents of Richmond novelist David L. Robbins, and their story is the subject of his stage production, “Sam and Carol.” The show debuts Thursday, April 2, at the at Richmond CenterStage. Directed by Jan Powell, the story tells the tale of Robbins’ Jewish parents’ lives from the end of World War II to the present day. Eva DeVirgilis and Nicklas Aliff star in the production, playing 29 different roles between them in the generational drama.
