Event Pick: “Nuestras Historias: Latinos in Richmond” Street Party at the Valentine

Looking for a free family day celebration that is culturally diverse this weekend? Join the Valentine for an old school street party on Clay Street when it kicks off its new exhibition, “Nuestras Historias: Latinos in Richmond,” which celebrates the roughly 100,000 local Latinos through interviews, objects and images. For the street party, get ready for Bio Ritmo, Claves Unidos, Salsa4Life.com, the Latin Ballet of Virginia, the Sacred Heart Center Dancers, DJ Beleza, Studio Two Three, and a meet-and-greet with the Richmond Kickers and Flying Squirrels. There are also, kids’ crafts, salsa lessons and food by Happy Empanada on Saturday, July 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free shuttle service is provided from the Broad Rock Branch Library at 10:30 a.m., and will run every 30 minutes. thevalentine.org.
