Kishi Bashi and Lake Street Dive at Friday Cheers

Friday, June 14, 6:30 p.m.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist K Ishibashi spent his formative years honing skills as a touring violinist for the likes of Sondre Lerche, Regina Spektor and Of Montreal. In 2011, he embarked on a solo career, adopting the pseudonym Kishi Bashi. He released “151A,” his full-length solo debut under the new name, in April 2012. Boston’s Lake Street Dive blends influences of jazz, soul and classic rock that come across as bright, fresh, charming and exploratory. The band independently released “In This Episode” in 2007, and “Promises, Promises” in 2008 before signing with a label for its self-titled effort in 2011. Kishi Bashi and Lake Street Dive perform at Friday Cheers on Friday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m. $5.
