The Big Red Bash

Gallop over to this gala affair! The Big Red Bash at Oakdale kicks off the annual Secretariat Birthday Celebration, sponsored by Secretariat For Virginia. This is the nonprofit organization that brought the magnificent Secretariat Racing Into History bronze monument to Downtown Ashland. Come enjoy lavish “grazing tables” of charcuterie and desserts, along with champagne, mint juleps and even a Big Red Ale, plus live music on the patio, an artsy Silent Auction, a thrilling horse race game and more at the pastoral perfection of Oakdale Farm in Ashland. And meet the Guest of Honor – a big, handsome chestnut racehorse who is a descendant (and lookalike) of Secretariat! Proceeds from the Bash go toward the maintenance of the monument and plaza.
