Ty is a percussive fingerstyle guitarist from Richmond, and he has played at over 50 notable venues around VA and MD. Currently, he is the top contestant in the prestigious Natasha International Fingerstyle Competition. Out of hundreds of guitarists across the world, he was seeded 1st in the semifinals with a score of 99/100 for his performance of his original song “The Last Leaf”. Before graduating from UVA in 2024, he had already performed at big events like the Hops in the Park Festival, the historic Miller’s Downtown, and he was also featured at The Garage and on WTJU radio.

Bob Ma, a judge in the Natasha Competition, wrote that Ty was “one of the most promising upcoming modern fingerstyle players I’ve heard”. Ty has released two singles to date, and they’ve received thousands of views across Instagram and Youtube. His unique style of playing and knack for creative songwriting has earned him international recognition.
