Book People welcomes local author Rick Timberlake as he discusses his newest book Opposite of Collision.

Saturday, May 31st at 11AM.

A story of dedication and sacrifice, a test of two men’s loyalty to their beliefs and each other. Meeting in a violent and chaotic environment, they find the courage to work together in an effort to foil a deadly terrorist plot. This desperate race against time culminates in a critical decision that could alter the course of history.
Randall Betts, a former marine and University of Richmond graduate, has embarked on a career that seeks out extremist enemies of the US. Munir Afridi, a young man from a minority clan in Pakistan, has been drawn into the dangerous world of terrorist plots with the promise of travel and adventure.
Both men will get more than they bargained for.
Weaving a story through actual terrorist events throughout the world, the book celebrates those who have chosen to protect all of us from the evil plotters who seek only chaos and destruction. This work is a tapestry of different cultures and societies.

Rick Timberlake had a broad career of over 35 years in the field of national security and intelligence operations.
Over 12 years of gathering details and stories from his time overseas and in Washington DC have gone into this story, along with the sacrifices of the people dedicated to serving this nation that are carefully woven into this book.
Mr. Timberlake continues to serve in providing security and personal safety consultations in the public and private sector, and he has produced more exciting material for books to come.
