The Shepherd’s Center Richmond (founded in 1984) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that supports active & independent older adults through lifelong learning and community service. Connect and engage at Open University, our lifelong learning program for those who want to keep learning – or keep teaching! The first of three 8-week sessions per year will be offered this September, featuring well-qualified volunteer instructors in many subjects like foreign language, literature, history, political science, the arts, science, medial issues, memoir writing, and yoga. Many of the faculty are retired members of area colleges and universities. Open University is one of the best bargains when it comes to quality lifelong learning in Richmond.
