NPS Maggie L Walker 161st Birthday Celebration
July 2025 marks the 161st birthday of Maggie Lena Walker, Richmond’s pioneering Black banker, community leader, and a woman of faith, hope, and courage. You are invited to experience two weekends of events at the MLW house, starting July 11, that include community events, volunteer service, special tours and exhibitions commemorating Mrs. Walker’s life and legacy.
The events hosted by our site are centered around the theme, “Labor of Love,” to highlight the work done by Walker and her community to improve the lives of others and keep Walker’s inspirational legacy alive.
Come join us for special house tours, children’s activities, and a pop-up exhibit!
