Don’t miss the grand opening of FOUR new exhibits on September 18th, from 6-8pm. It will be a fun night full of art and discovery – perfect for date night or a fun outing with friends. Exhibits include works by Khalid Thompson, Kelly U Johnson. Dennis Rozema and The Richmond
Weavers Guild! Meet the artists at this September 18th gallery show and hear the stories behind their exhibit. Plus, this is a great opportunity to mingle with other local art enthusiasts, make new friends, and enjoy a wine/beer cash bar that benefits our ArtReach programs. Mark your calendar and invite a friend! New exhibits unveiled will include:
SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION – Khalid Thompson’s art is the spontaneous application of color and mixed media designed to emphasize free expression with relationships to music, nature, and cultural connection.
PIECING IT TOGETHER – A RETROSPECTIVE OF KELLY U JOHNSON – Kelly U Johnson uses vibrant colors and mixed media elements to layer multiple meanings into her work, weaving compelling stories of strength and beauty.
MANDALA STRING ART – Beautiful patterns emerge when dividing a circle equally and connecting these points continuously. This is the language of Sacred Geometry. Mandala String Art by Dennis Rozema, brings forth this ancient lost knowledge as a modern craft and teaches geometry in a new, fun way.
WEAVING – The Richmond Weavers Guild was formed to promote the appreciation of hand weaving and educate those interested in fiber arts in the Richmond community. This display will showcase a wide range of weaving and woven objects, as well as some of the tools used.
