History Notes: The World in Our Commonwealth

Join the Richmond Symphony and the Virginia Museum of History & Culture for a special evening of history and music, featuring selections inspired by the museum’s upcoming exhibition We The People: The World in Our Commonwealth, which explores the many people who, over centuries, have made Virginia the unique place it is in America and in the world, and the dramatic impact of the immigrant experience throughout Virginia’s history as people arrived from the four corners of the globe.

History Notes will begin with a brief history talk discussing rare items from the VMHC collection followed by musical selections highlighting works created by immigrant composers and played by a chamber ensemble of some of Richmond’s most talented musicians.

Following the musical performance there will be a reception included in the cost of your ticket.
