Foyer gallery grand opening “This Must Be The Place: A group show about Home”

Foyer, Richmond’s newest contemporary art space in the Downtown Arts District will open with an exhibition of 14, mostly local, artists titled “This Must Be The Place: A group show about Home” on June 6th at 16 W Broad street from 5-9pm. The exhibition marks the launch of Foyer’s mission to exhibit compelling work by emerging and mid-career artists from the Richmond region and beyond. Founded by an artist who seeks to build bridges into the world of contemporary art, Foyer welcomes seasoned collectors, art lovers and the curious alike. “This Must Be The Place” brings together artists whose work responds to the idea of home, or the very real locational, physical, psychic and/or relational place that they find themselves. Taking cues from the Talking Heads song, the exhibition is brimming with whimsy and exuberance, reverence and nostalgia; with an underlying progression through questioning into a surprising solidity.
