On August 30th, we’re hosting a meaningful, one-day-only event at The Carpenter Theater, and I’d be honored to personally invite you.
Behind the Hairbrush: A Royal Afternoon with Diana’s Hairstylist & Museum Curator
Taking place on the 28th anniversary of Princess Diana’s passing, this special gathering is a tribute to her legacy through fashion, storytelling, and personal reflection — bringing a touch of royalty to Richmond.
As Curator of The Princess Diana Museum, I’m co-hosting the event with Richard Dalton, Princess Diana’s personal hairstylist for over a decade, as we debut our new book:
“It’s All About The Hair: My Decade With Diana, H.R.H. Princess of Wales.”
A Royal Afternoon in store:
• Firsthand stories from inside the palace
• Live Q&A and book signing
• An exclusive display of Diana’s Black Sheep Sweater & Catherine Walker Falcon Dress
Event Details:
The Carpenter Theater, Dominion Energy Center @ Mooney Hall, 600 E Grace St, Richmond
Saturday, August 30th
Doors open at 12PM | Event begins at 1PM
Attendees will have the rare chance to hear firsthand accounts from Dalton, who styled the Princess’s iconic looks, and Plant, who has dedicated her life to preserving Diana’s legacy. Following the talk, a book signing will be held where guests can meet the authors and purchase their own copy of the book for $55, with pre-orders available to secure a copy on the day of the event.
Renae will also bring the “Falcon Dress,” a custom cream silk crepe embroidered evening gown designed by Catherine Walker for Princess Diana’s 1986 Gulf Tour. Richard was the only person to see her wearing it and will be sharing pages from the book that document this very special moment. In addition she will bring the “Black Sheep Sweater” which Diana famously wore in 1983 which has never been seen in public before.
“This event is a heartfelt tribute to Princess Diana’s enduring influence and the personal moments that shaped her public image,” said Renae Plant. “We’re excited to offer fans a unique glimpse into her life through stories that haven’t been shared before.”
Guests will enjoy delightful refreshments and the opportunity to mingle with fellow admirers in an atmosphere fit for royalty. This exclusive gathering promises to be a memorable celebration honoring one of the most beloved figures of our time.
