John Bryan will lead a discussion on autism Saturday, July 12th at 11am using his newest book on the topic Angelina’s Shake-a-stick!
Angelina’s Shake-a-Stick! is an encyclopedic gathering of the newest autism information, expertise, and guidance.
The book is meant to be helpful for autism families, autism professionals, and persons who know little about autism. The book’s through line is the story of Angelina, now 9, and her challenges and triumphs.
Several autism notables wrote articles for Angelina’s Shake-a-Stick!: Temple Grandin (Introduction), CNN Hero Dr. Wendy Ross, Netflix’s “Love on the Spectrum” star Jennifer Cook, Profound Autism Alliance founder Judith Ursitti, and others.
This is the first and only autism book to have the involvement of the nation’s two major autism organizations: Autism Society of America CEO Chris Banks wrote the Preface, and Autism Speaks Chief Science Officer Andy Shih wrote the Afterword.
Thousands of copies of the book are already being put to good use by dozens of organizations throughout the nation.
John Bryan’s writings have been featured in publications ranging from Sports Illustrated to Delta SKY to Parade.com.
His books have addressed topics including religion, art, fly-fishing, Down syndrome, and others.
Since becoming an autism grandfather in 2017, he has devoted time and energy to autism, both locally and nationally.
