After 5 Fridays | The Hampton University Marching Force Band & VCU’s Black Awakening Choir
Get ready to jumpstart Black History Month with art and music with performances by Hampton University’s Marching Force band and Virginia Commonwealth University’s Black Awakening Choir. From hip-hop and R&B to gospel and spirituals, you’ll experience a musical journey rooted in soul. The Marching Force band will get you up out of your seat with their reveling horns, percussion, and dancers. They will be followed by the Black Awakening Choir, who will take you to church and move your spirit. This musical event is presented in connection with the exhibition Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, on view through March 1.
