Richmond’s internationally known salsa crew, Bio Ritmo, pioneers of the indie salsa movement, perform visionary dance music for the 21st century joined by Kadencia, a 13-piece orchestra founded in Puerto Rico by singer and songwriter Maurice Sanabria-Ortiz and percussionist Roberto Candelario – and which is now calling Richmond its home base. The latter group is dedicated to conserving and promoting Afro-Puerto Rican music, using bomba, piena and salsa. Should be an amazing show.
