Magdalena: Nine Witch Knots

Early music collective Magdalena presents a show of folk ballads and country dance tunes from the British Isles dating as far back as the 16th century. Featuring special guest Tina Chancey on fiddle, this set will move from raunchy barroom drinking songs to heartbreaking ballads of love and tragedy, interleaved with tunes from John Playford’s “The Dancing Master” (1651) and other sources. These songs are one of the greatest forms of musical storytelling – come join us for an afternoon of tunes and connection.
