Storytime at the Memorial: U.S. NAVY 250th Anniversary Celebration – October 4, 2025
NEW THIS FALL!
Storytime at the Memorial is now happening one weekday and one Saturday each month. Join us on Saturday, October 4 and Tuesday, October 14 at the Virginia War Memorial for free, educator-led readings of children’s history books and fun craft activities. Families are welcome—recommended for kids ages 4 to 10.
This Month’s Featured Book: My Sailor Dad by Ross H. Mackenzie
Craft Activity: Decorate and assemble toy airplanes and enjoy coloring ten different types of battleship coloring pages.
Special Saturday Bonus: Meet Ember, the Virginia War Memorial’s Official Storytime Canine Ambassador – a certified K-9 Caring Angel Therapy Dog!
