With a new brew pub seeming to open every week, it’s easy to forget that Virginia also is prime time for wine. To help remind you that our soil and climate isn’t bad for nurturing the brother and sisterhood of the grape, the seventh annual Harvest Wine Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at James River Cellars. There will be live music by Reunion Virginia and wine samplings from four Virginia wineries, as well as wine education classes, tours of the vineyard, craft vendors and a variety of culinary options. The celebration of man’s oldest intoxicant runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $20. Call 550-7516 or visit jamesrivercellars.com.
