Lovers of musical theater who just want to belt out their favorite classics have a new place to shine like the lights of Broadway. Inspired by the cabaret scene in Manhattan’s West Village, the Ghost Light After Party is a monthly open-mic piano bar organized by local actors and singers Matt Shofner and Maggie Roop, with a special guest every month. The Ghost Light After Party provides a fun and social environment for Richmond theater artists and enthusiasts to come together, sing a song or just have a drink and enjoy the evening. For opening night, the shindig will feature Sandy Dacus on the keys, while guests Dan Cimo, Audra Honaker and Robert Throckmorton share some of their favorite tunes and face the musical theater Mad Libs challenge. The first party takes place at Richmond Triangle Players on Sunday, Jan. 22, at 8 p.m. $5. facebook.com/ghostlightparty.
