WRIR’s Ninth Annual “Party for the Rest of Us” at the Renaissance Ballroom

Friday, Feb. 7. 7 p.m.

An annual celebration of indigenous talents, WRIR-FM 97.3’s anniversary party is not only the social event of the season, but also the best place to take in the wealth of Richmond musical talent all at one show. The stellar lineup of diverse melodic talents includes Fun Size, the Ar-Kaics, Hypercolor, Herro Sugar, River City Taiko and the Colloquial Orchestra. If that isn’t enough to elicit your active interest, local story-telling group Secretly Y’all, the Silent Music Revival with Snack Truck proving the soundtrack to the Sidney Peterson-directed, 1947 film “The Cage,” and the RVA Squares square dance will offer unique showcases as well. A more comprehensive assemblage of capital city creativity would be difficult to come by and you shouldn’t miss this once-a-year opportunity to acquaint yourself with the good stuff. WRIR’s ninth annual Party for the Rest of Us is Friday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m., at the Renaissance Ballroom. Admission is $10 with all proceeds benefiting the low-power indie station WRIR. wrir.org.
