According to French playwright and actor Molière, the duty of comedy is to correct men by amusing them. Wham City Comedy, the Baltimore-based group of multimedia artists and comedians founded in 2004, has taken the definition to heart. The troupe’s principal members, Ben O’Brien, Alan Resnick and Robby Rackleff, have created a do-it-yourself show of vignettes that’s a mix of Second City improvisations, Monty Python left-field absurdities and Daniel Tosh’s voyeuristic pursuits. On top of holding monthly shows in their hometown and touring the country, Wham City Comedy has produced several short videos for the late-night comedy cable network Adult Swim. It corrects the masses with amusements Monday, Nov. 17, at Gallery5. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is $6. gallery5arts.org.
