Weinstein JCC Names RICK NELSON as New CEO

Richmond, Va.—The Carole and Marcus Weinstein Jewish Community Center (Weinstein JCC) announces the appointment of Rick Nelson as chief executive officer, effective Oct. 16, 2017. Nelson’s hire follows a national search led by Board Member Cullen Seltzer and Board President Shelley Gouldin.

For more than a decade, Nelson worked in JCCs in Canada. Most recently he served as executive director of Jewish Community Campuses for UJA-Federation in Toronto, and with JCC of Greater Vancouver. Nelson brings more than 30 years of experience, beginning with the Jacksonville JCC in Fla. From there he developed a successful career path that took him to Jewish communities across North America. Rick is as a member of the JCC Association’s board of directors. He also was honored as a Fellow in the JCC Global Amitim Program, which is an international leadership network.

Nelson’s track record of building partnerships, energizing teams and creating value makes him an ideal fit for Richmond, the Weinstein JCC and its strategic goals.
