Barista throw down: Rostov’s Coffee & Tea wants to show Richmond what coffee made well is like. Baristas will face off in Rostov’s first Aeropress competition, scheduled for April 18 at 7 p.m. at the Glavé Kocen Gallery next door to the shop.
Coffee competition: The second East Coast location of a Classic Rock Coffee franchise will open near VCU at the beginning of May, Richmond BizSense reports. Owner David Monis might have a tough time of it — the coffee shop will be surrounded by four Starbucks, Lamplighter Roasting Co., Lift, Harrison Street Café and Alchemy Coffee.
Spanish nights: The folks at Secco Wine Bar are inviting you for a night of Spanish wine with Andre Tamers of De Maison Selections. Tamers is bringing along two Spanish winemakers, Antinio Revalo of Garcia Revalo in Rueda and Ceferino Lopez from A Coroa in Valdeorras on Thursday, April 16, at 6 p.m. Expect tapas during the event from chef John Ledbetter, along with the wine tastings.
