Interested in driving an electric car but uncertain about cost, mileage range and where to plug in for recharging?
An event next week might help you. National Drive Electric RVA, an advocacy group for electric cars, is co-hosting “Electric Week” from Sept. 13-20. It’s designed to introduce vehicles that are fossil fuel and largely carbon emission free. The event also is sponsored by Plug in America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association.

There will be a display of electric vehicles including the Nissan LEAF, Tesla Model S, Chevy Volt, and BMW i3 on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. It will be held at Libbie Mill, 4901 Libbie Mill E. Blvd., in Richmond.
“Rides & Reels,” during which attendants who register can test-drive electric cars, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m. at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College at 1651 E. Parham Road. Following will be a showing of “Kick Gas,” a documentary about eight people who traveled 4,000 miles without using gasoline.
The “EV Plug-In” (“EV” being electric vehicles) will be held at the Church Hill location of Urban Farmhouse, 310 N. 33rd St. in the city. The event is a discussion about how electric cars can be helped by solar power devices.
