Top 40 Under 40

Introducing The Class Of 2025

Welcome to the official landing page for Style’s Top 40 under 40, class of ’25!

These stories have been available to the public since our quarterly print magazine, The People Issue, hit the streets on Dec. 8. If you haven’t seen it, the glossy cover features our Richmonders of the Year, the arts nonprofit Studio Two Three, whose leaders are providing “a much-needed artistic resource, cultural conduit, provocative voice, educational facilitator, civic gathering spot, art ambassador-on-wheels, and innovative inspiration to those navigating new political paradigms.” And they’re doing this during a year when many arts groups took heavy hits to their federal funding, including Studio Two Three, which lost a significant amount of already approved money. Our story by Don Harrison looks at the way they fought back; their creative and fun responses to raise money, and their ability to rally and educate local arts and culture communities, all while remaining true to their core beliefs in social justice.

But that’s not all this issue has, by a long shot. We also have a truly impressive and diverse new class of Top 40 under 40 winners. These local individuals are providing an inspirational example while doing important work in the community. Most of them were nominated by our readers, who filled out online nomination forms over the summer. Style Weekly’s editorial staff also added a handful of winners from memorable stories that we covered during the past year.

A big shout out and heartfelt thank you to all of this year’s deserving winners! We appreciate you, and we hope that you will take your awards as a small local validation of your efforts to make Richmond a better, more unique and welcoming place.
