To the Reader: A New StyleWeekly.com

Thousands of Richmonders supplement — and in some cases, perhaps substitute — our weekly print publication with its online companion, StyleWeekly.com. And you already may have seen the changes we’ve rolled out with our new website last week. If you haven’t, we invite you to take a look.

For several months we’ve worked to fulfill our goal for StyleWeekly.com: To produce and present an entertaining, compelling and valuable resource of local information; and to create an engaging online experience that expands our strengths using the advantages of the Web.

The best way to learn about our new site is to wander it on your own. But we thought we’d point out a few new ways you might find it useful:

1. Catch a Movie

While we can’t guarantee the actors’ performances, we can vouch for the quality of the new movie listings feature. You’ll find local movie times searchable by date, genre, theater and more. Plus, our critics’ incisive movie reviews are folded right in.

2. Plan a Night Out

Our new events calendar is fully searchable by type of event, venue and date. You can add the event to your calendar from our site, use map tools and share events with friends.

3. Find a Restaurant

Our new restaurant database allows you to find the perfect local spot to eat and drink. In addition to our restaurant reviews and award-winning Food & Drink coverage, our aim is to be the most complete local restaurant resource in the area. Search by neighborhood, cuisine and price range.

4. Buy and Sell

Our new free Classifieds section contains nearly 35,000 postings, from auto sales to want ads. General posting is free, but we also feature more robust listings for as little as 99 cents. You can have your ad online in minutes.

5. Join the Conversation

Sign up for a free account at StyleWeekly.com for a more complete online experience. Maintain your Richmond profile, connect with friends, join exclusive discussions and rate your favorite restaurants, events and movies.

We hope you’ll enjoy exploring our new site, and we look forward to hearing what you think at letters@styleweekly.com.
