“Those Harvey Girls” highlights the lives of three black sisters growing up in rural Virginia in the ’60s. But the music transcends gender, race and religion in this world-premiere musical, presented by Swift Creek Theatre. Directed by Tom Width and featuring Richmond gospel singer Cora Harvey Armstrong in the starring role, the musical shows how the power of song shaped the siblings’ lives. The feel-good production boasts an impressive lineup, including musical director Paul Deiss, lights by Joe Doran and the costumes of Maura Lynch Cravey.
