These Alumni Are Not Weenies

I have just read your reference to St. Christopher’s people as “weenies” (“The Score,” Street Talk, Feb. 21) and thought I’d bring a few “weenies” of note to your attention. Do these names ring a bell locally?

  • Renard Charity Jr. ’87, senior vice president, long-term-care marketing, Genworth Financial.
  • Danny Ludeman ’74, chief executive officer, Wachovia Securities.
  • Manoli Loupassi ’85, attorney, former vice mayor, Richmond.
  • Donald McEachin ’79, attorney, House of Delegates.
  • Jay Moore ’75, co-head of Global Markets, Hunton & Williams.
  • Walter Robertson ’72, president and chief executive, Scott & Stringfellow.
  • Granville Valentine ’73, interim chief executive, Greater Richmond Red Cross.
  • John Whitlock ’75, chief executive, The Whitlock Group.

That took me about two minutes. There are many, many more. Your magazine and your readers should be pleased that Richmond has an institution that has produced innumerable scholars, gentlemen and business leaders like these for nearly 100 years.

And speaking of weenies, put a lot of mustard on the one you guys eat for that gaffe. Your score? Minus 5. (P.S. Good luck to Benedictine in their move!)
