So you’ve written the screenplay of the next Oscar-winning film, but how do you get it out there? The James River Writers team up with the Richmond International Film Festival for the next Writing Show. This month’s theme, “Beyond Hollywood: Local and Indie Filmmakers Talk About Their Craft,” features a panel discussion on the business of getting a script written, and tips on ways to get it produced even if you live far from the big Hollywood sign. The panel includes filmmakers Imogene Drummond, Michael Gibrall, Brent Martz, Scott Mathias and Ron Newcomb, all of whom will share stories of how they got their work produced. “Beyond Hollywood” is Thursday, Feb. 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the pavilion room of the Children’s Museum of Richmond. $10-$12. jamesriverwriters.org.
