The Virginmarys at the National

Monday, July 22. 7:30 p.m.

Mixing the sounds of grunge with the energy of punk, English three-piece rock band the Virginmarys create rock reminiscent of the Foo Fighters. The band spent its early years touring extensively and has shared the stage with acts such as Slash, the View, Feeder and We Are Scientists. The Virginmarys released a series of self-financed EPs, including 2010’s “Cast the First Stone,” 2011’s “Just a Ride” and “Portrait of Red,” and 2012’s “Dead Man’s Shoes” before signing with Wind-Up Records. The group released its full length debut album, “King of Conflict,” in February. The Virginmarys perform at the National on Monday, July 22, at 7:30 p.m. $10-$12. thenationalva.com.
