The Trillions at Gallery5

Saturday, April 14

When local rock favorites Prabir and the Substitutes broke up in 2009, it didn’t take long for three of the remaining members to form the Trillions, an indie-pop band that kept the uniqueness of the Substitutes sound while adding heavier elements influenced by indie rock and punk. In a few short months the Trillions made a name for themselves in Richmond and along the East Coast with their self-released EP, “Flux,” and opening for acts such as Thao With the Get Down Stay Down and J Roddy Walston and the Business, as well as securing a spot in the first RVA Music Fest. After spending months in the studio, the group’s first full length record, “Tritones,” finally sees the light of day when the Trillions, along with Black Girls and Kid Is Qual, perform at Gallery5 on Saturday, April 14, at 8 p.m. $5. 644-0005.
