“The Taint” at the Byrd Theatre

April 17.

Much of the charm of independent films correlates with their ability to mediate ambitious imagination with low-budget restrictions. Last year local creative team Drew Bolduc and Dan Nelson began their own balancing act with a movie project called “The Taint,” a satirical horror-comedy about a poisoned river that turns men into rage-driven misogynists. Made for roughly $5,000 and shot throughout Richmond, this campy, blood-splattering romp is the byproduct of young professionals working hard at goofing around. Making its proper debut, “The Taint” is scheduled to screen at the Byrd Theatre on April 17 at 2 p.m. $2. For information and a trailer visit
