Their mission to train workers with disabilities for the food-service industry has captured international accolades, and top chefs and servers volunteer because they’re committed to the rightness of the idea. “We’re giving people a sense of accomplishment that they haven’t had in the past,” Max says, “and the ability to overcome some of the obstacles they have and to appreciate being involved.” From this local beginning, a ripple effect is in progress.
