The Pharmacy at the Camel

While they may be attached to a label called Don't Stop Believin' Records, the members of the Pharmacy have very little in common with Journey's grandiose arena rock. With an evident hipster irony, this trio of arty punks prefers to concentrate its efforts into some fun, off-kilter pop songs. Tinkering with violas, violins, cellos, harpsichords and horns to support two- to three-minute guitar blasts and lyrics that allude to the whimsy of grown-up playtime, these lo-fi charmers have some serious sing-a-long smarts. Touring in support of the latest album, “Choose YR Own Adventure,” the Pharmacy performs at the Camel on Sunday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. 353-4901. — Mike Hilleary
