A pity that you pull out your tuxedo mostly for New Year’s Eve and weddings. (And why not funerals, while we’re on the topic? That’s what I’d prefer of our guests. Send-offs should be spiffy.)
I also prefer the terms “smoking suit” and “jacket,” the way my European friends referred to my tuxedo when I summered with them a while back. No matter. The tux should be worn more often — and correctly. (God help Americans.)
Here’s an occasion for you. It’s exclusive. To go you simply must find someone who can give you an invitational ticket. It’s also for a good cause. And what better reason to look your best? Oh yes, for the woman on your arm.
