The latest from the Local Groove series, where record stores select music films to screen at our glorious movie palace, the Byrd Theatre. This week’s pick is from Jay Leavitt’s Deep Grooves, a Fan staple. Definitely more famous for its huge soundtrack, “The Harder They Come” from 1972 stars real-life singer Jimmy Cliff as reggae singer Ivanhoe Martin, navigating his way through corrupt record producers and weed dealers, with underlying social commentary and nods to Spaghetti Westerns. 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. $5. byrdtheatre.com.
