It's tough to say with any certainty whether Nashville-based trio the Coal Men got their name as a result of their east Tennessee miner's town upbringing, or if it's just some silly play-on-words on frontman Dave Coleman's surname. Either way there's a little less uncertainty when it comes to the group's knack for melodic Americana, highlighted by Coleman's earnest storytelling vocals, which has the ability to sound like “Devils and Dust”-era Springsteen. On the road behind their latest album, “Kids with Songs,” the Coal Men are scheduled to perform at Ashland Coffee and Tea on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. $12-$17.
