It's almost a rite of passage for kids to read, or have read to them, the works of Roald Dahl. Responsible for such well-crafted stories as “James and the Giant Peach,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Fantastic Mr. Fox,” “Matilda” and “The Witches,” Dahl infused his darkly tinged fiction with young, resilient protagonists and some of the most creatively awful villains in children's literature. Looking to retain the same sense of straightforward storytelling, Theatre IV presents an adaptation of Dahl's classic “The BFG.” It follows the adventures of an orphan girl named Sophie and the world's only benevolent giant as they attempt to rid England of nine evil giants such as the Fleshlumpeater, Bloodbottler, Childchewer and Gizzardgulper. “The BFG” runs through March 6. $12-$16.
