Style & Substance: Summer Pamp

On an evening after work when the week is winding down, it’s hard to resist pampering — especially free pampering. Carytown’s Le Visage makeup boutique stayed open late Thursday, Aug. 2, for a Pamper Party, offering free makeovers, as well as massages and hand-acials (a facial for your hands) provided by Soak!

Makeup artist Lina Sogomonyan, pictured, applies powder foundations and liquid blush, three shades of eye shadow and delicate amounts of mascara. She’s happy to teach, as well as paint, pluck and powder, women unsure of what to do — or how to do it. “It’s usually the eye shadow,” she says of what stumps women.

The Pamper Party coincided with Fashion First, held the first Thursday of each month. Modeled after First Fridays, the event offers Carytown shoppers extended hours and merchants the opportunity for special in-store events.
