Style & Substance: Invasion of the top models.

More than 250 women, all vying for the lights, action and glamour that being “America’s Next Top Model” brings, gathered in the food court at Chesterfield Towne Center Aug. 12 for a shot at fame. The competitors had to pass the “ruler test” (all had to be at least 5 foot 7) and answer why they should be chosen, then sashay down the runway. Their fate now lies in the hands of producers in Los Angeles. The nine to 14 women chosen to compete in the show’s 10th season will be revealed early spring 2008, when the new season of “ANTM” begins.
