Steve Earle and the Dukes and Los Lobos at Meadow Event Park, Friday, Aug. 27
After Hours Concerts presents two veteran groups known for their great live shows: First from East Los Angeles, Los Lobos rocks out with a huge range of influences including soul, norteno, Tejano, son jarocho, country, R&B, folk, doo wop and old fashioned rock and roll. They’ve even been attracting more jam band fans in recent years thanks to the occasional Dead cover.
Headlining is veteran roots rocker Steve Earle who will be playing some of hits this tour as well numbers off his acclaimed recent album, “Ghosts of West Virginia,” composed of material related to the Upper Big Branch Mine Disaster from 2010, which killed 29 miners. The show could also have some emotional moments if Earle pulls out some numbers from his album ode to his son, Justin Townes Earle, who died last year from an accidental overdose. $21-$79.
