Ilana Glazer at Carpenter Theatre at Dominion Energy Center
A native Long Islander, Glazer was hilarious and larger than life on the Comedy Channel series, “Broad City,” and now you can check out her stand-up show right here in Ricki-ticki-tavi-ville. Tickets run $27 to $37 and there are likely very few left. Doors at 7 p.m. and show at 8 p.m.
Coalition Theater’s sixth annual 2nd Best Fest (June 8-10)
This impressively wide-reaching fest of improv, sketch and stand-up comedy performers runs Thursday through Saturday at the “world famous” Coalition Theater in Jackson Ward. It features up-and-coming acts from Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore, Washington, DC, and Richmond and is headlined by Asian AF, a variety show that ran at UCB LA (that’s Upright Citizens Brigade Los Angeles for you comedy squares) from 2016 to 2019. Friday Cheers feat. Watchouse and Palmyra at Brown’s Island
Formerly known as Mandolin Orange, Watchhouse is an Americana/folk due based in Chapel Hill that has played major festivals around the country, including the Newport Folk Festival in 2021. They will be headlining this week’s Friday Cheers with Richmond’s own rising folk group, Palmyra, which has been described as a distant cousin of the progressive Punch Brothers mixed with elements of the Avett Brothers, opening the night at 6:30 p.m. $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Ardent 9th Anniversary Block Party
One of our favorite local breweries is taking over Leigh Street for its annual big ‘ole block party with live music, food trucks and that great Ardent beer (hello, Honey Ginger). There will also be guest taps from their brewer friends in addition to cider, mead and wine. The band lineup goes: Chris Leggett and the Copper Line (2 p.m.) Boots of Leather (3 p.m.), Pet Moose Project (4 p.m.), Serqet (5 p.m.) and Benét (6 p.m.) The party runs from noon to 8 p.m. Rain or shine. Kids and families welcome, as well as friendly dogs on leashes (and outdoors).

Pride Witch Market at Diversity Richmond
Be witchy and proud! There will be 45 vendors at this free event featuring “spells for love, herbs, teas, self care, supplies, rainbows galore and so much more” plus tarot readers and reiki. Masks must be work inside the market area. Runs noon to 6 p.m. 1407 Sherwood Ave.
