Silent Music Revival: “The Little Match Girl” at Gallery5 with live music by Toxic Moxie

Sunday, Dec. 16

This popular event pairs local musicians with classic silent films, but the players haven’t seen or practiced the movies so the scores are spontaneous. Based on a short story by Hans Christian Anderson, “The Little Match Girl” is a 1928 French drama directed by Jean Renoir about a poor little girl freezing on the streets, trying to sell matches at Christmas time, when she starts hallucinating about her dead grandmother. Things go south from there. 7:30 p.m. Donations appreciated. galleryfive.org.
