This Week: Truck Stop

Truck Stop
Fans of Nate's Taco Truck, a six-year fixture around Virginia Commonwealth University and farmers' markets, just got new reasons to love winter. Owner Nate Gutierrez has a new roof downtown, so weather won't be an issue for customers used to his seasonal setup. Nate's Taco Truck Stop serves take-out only at 315 N. Second St., week days from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The breakfast menu has burritos and quesadillas; for lunch there are crave-worthy tacos, enchiladas, tamales, and spicy hot chocolate, a deal at $1 a cup. 562-1227.

Fruitcake implosion: Play with food at the Science Museum of Virginia on Dec. 29, as the scientific properties of various fruitcakes are examined without mockery. Bring one in and get reduced admission. See the website for details, smv.org.

Lunch in Carytown: Bonvenu announces new lunch and brunch hours, Tuesdays through Sundays at 2915 W. Cary St. 342-1003. bonvenu.com.
