Scenes From the RVA Stop the Violence Rally

On Tuesday May 12th, community leaders, police and concerned citizens marched from Martin Luther King Middle School to Mosby Court in protest to recent violence. The killing of Ra’Keem Adkins on May 7 touched a nerve in the eight-knit community of Mosby Court.

One of the featured speakers at the event was community activist Art Burton, who said to the crowd: “There is a special purpose for you in this community. There is an intention for you to be a light on this nation.” More of his speech below.
