Dancers will tell you it's all about maintaining the line, melding emotion to some unique movement, rhythm and bodily form. Cultivating the future movers and shakers of this nonverbal art, Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of Dance and Choreography presents its 2009 student concert, “Human Maps.” Featuring a range of new choreography by 10 dance majors, the performance series will focus on a number of themes and subjects from the innocence of interacting children and the loss of one's parents to the duality of the ego and id. Showtimes are Jan. 30 and 31 at 8 p.m. at the Grace Street Theater. $5-$10. 828-2020. — Mike Hilleary
