On his latest album, “Ready for Confetti,” Robert Earl Keen continues his trademark alt-country storytelling, which during his career has translated into extensive tours and hordes of fans. By the time he recorded his first album, 1989’s “West Textures,” Keen was established as one of the most entertaining live performers on the roadhouse circuit. His endearing style has garnered praise from artists such as Jack Ingram, Pat Green and Todd Snider, which led to numerous tours with country bands such as Reckless Kelly; the Texas singer even has opened gigs for the Dave Matthews Band. Robert Earl Keen performs at the National on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 8 p.m. $20-$30. 612-1900.
