Wearing a black T-shirt imprinted with “I love BB” — which happens to be both her late grandmother’s nickname and Barker’s initials — Curwen stepped onstage. Barker asked her if she was nervous.
“No!” she said. “This is what I’ve been waiting for my whole life.”
She can’t reveal which game she played or what she won until Oct. 20, when the show airs on CBS. But Curwen, now a Christopher Newport University freshman, gladly tried her hand at some ersatz “The Price Is Right.” It’s not quite Plinko, but she did win a jar of mayo. — M.S.S.
