Pies and Pints, a chain based in Ohio, plans to open its 10th beer-and-pizza spot at 2035 W. Broad St., as Richmond BizSense reports. Look for it this summer. piesandpints.net.

Also coming this summer, City Beach will take over the two-year vacant Selba space at 2416 W. Cary St., the Time-Dispatch writes. This will be the third restaurant from the owners of the Beach House Bar & Grille in Innsbrook and Midlothian’s South Beach. beachhousebar.us.

Happenings: Jason Alley, the chef and owner of Pasture and Comfort, will demonstrate his kitchen prowess at a Taste of Richmond on Thursday, April 28, at 5 p.m. at the John Marshall ballrooms at 101 N. Fifth St. While you’re watching Alley flipping pans and knives, you can sample dishes from Buz and Ned’s Real Barbecue, Julep’s New Southern Cuisine and Rappahannock, plus wine and beer.
